“Poi piovve dentro a l’alta fantasia,” Dante writes in his “Divine Comedy,” describing the moment when his vision surpasses earthly boundaries. In this verse from the Paradiso, Dante describes a downpour of divine grace and insight falling on him as he reaches the zenith of his spiritual journey. In the realm of high fantasy, where celestial light and divine wisdom meet, this rain represents enlightenment and a deep relationship with the divine. It is a shower that cleanses the soul, washing away the residue of earthly cares and allowing the spirit to bask in the purity of heavenly understanding.
Bardh-I Rafet Jonuzi-T, on the other hand, engages in a dialogical exchange with his peers through their art, moving beyond the confines of solitary discourse. As the exhibition’s title metaphorically illustrates, each raindrop descends at its own distinct velocity and intensity, culminating in an emergent and serendipitous puddle—a constellation of drops. These artworks, much like the raindrops, coalesce in a dynamic and fluid manner, forming a cohesive assemblage of interconnected and multidisciplinary creations.
Jonuzi poetically articulates:
“In this puddle, the heavens find their reflection!
The stars!
The transient passersby!
Insects and birds in flight!
Children, with their curious gazes…
Then, as a cargo train traverses the landscape, its hold brimming with goods, it propels forward with force. The puddle begins to vibrate and quiver subtly. In an effort to capture the attention of those who remain unaware, all the drops initiate their delicate dance, leaping and shimmering.”
The exhibition’s collective nature not only exemplifies the harmonious and interconnected entirety but also foregrounds the distinct contributions of each artist, emphasizing the emergent properties of collaborative artistic practice.
The curator of the project is the senior curator, Dr. Ana Frangovska, and the exhibition will be open to the public for the whole month.
