Nafi Jashari and Dzelil Rufati in Chifte Hammam
It is a great honor for the National Gallery of Macedonia to present works by Professor Nafi Jashari, and this is just a small part of the mosaic of social actions for enriching the artistic and cultural life in Macedonia.
The work of Nafi Jashari as a professor at the Faculty of Art in Tetovo, and his teaching the secrets of graphic art, is a further definition and direction in the life of this author who reveals talented students in the area of fine arts. This speaks volumes of the impact of the educational system in shaping the individual and the mapping of his place in our society.
Nafi Jashari’s experimentation with different technical-technological methods in shaping the graphic print allows for an original art product with profound aesthetic results. Regardless of which technique is in question, Jashari always devotedly explores the possibilities and limits of this medium, bringing them to perfection not only in terms of the technical expression, but also in the overall visual and aesthetic impression. Combining multiple graphic techniques allows him various compositional and aesthetic solutions in creating the envisioned art projects.
It is precisely due to this fact that this exhibition holds special importance, as Jashari presents his research in graphics through his views on the world and life, but with universal values.

The National Gallery of Macedonia, in its agenda for the promotion of Macedonian fine art, will continue as it has, to support and organize exhibitions of eminent representatives of the graphic discipline in order to enrich with new artistic values the contemporary Macedonian graphics.
The rich program of the National Gallery of Macedonia is complemented with the exhibition of Dzelil Rufati, professor at the Facultyl of Art in Tetovo. Along with his artwork, Rufati works in the education system in this country, thus participating in the shaping of future generations of artists in our society .
The work of Dzelil Rufati characterizes the interest for metal in combination with other materials. He has found a suitable plastic conduit for his sculptural visions in massive tectonic forms, which he creates with analytical focus and spiritual calmness. The compositions vibrate with their own intense inner life, shaped in a modern manner, but topic shows the notable impact of popular mythological tradition, as well as archaic and primitive and extremely rudimentary relations to the question of life and death, close to the original pre-logical awareness.
The geometric forms in which he realizes his works suggest dynamism and explosive breaching of space. The surface is systematically processed, thus giving the effect of light and shadow inherent to sculpture as a medium of expression. The interest in the mythology of his people is a thematic determination in his work.
With the exhibition of Dzelil Rufati, the National Gallery of Macedonia participates in the presentation of Macedonian artists of Albanian origin and complements the thread in the socio-cultural life in Macedonia, using the language of art as the most important segment in global communication. It is with this exhibitionprecisely that our institution continuously reaffirms its task to preserve and present the most valuable achievements in the field of fine arts in our country.
